VIM Location

VIM is located roughly halfway between Cancun and Valladolid, on the main road to Merida near the border of the states of Quintana Roo and the Yucatan. It is approximately fives miles west of the town of Ignacio Zaragoza (also known as Kilometro Ochenta).

There are many small Mayan villages in this very rural area. While Ignacio Zaragoza is not large, it has two preparatorias and a full secundaria with separate teachers for each subject. Zaragoza is clearly the educational center of this region of Quintana Roo, since there are no other preparatorias.

VIM will provide the necessary transportation, books, clothing, tuition fees, etc., to send children to these schools.
