VIM Program The village can accomodate 25 boys and 25 girls staying Monday through Friday during school weeks. Accion will provide the necessary living expenses and families are expected to contribute as a cooperative, providing services and garden produce when possible. The focus will begin on secundaria students many of which will continue on to preparatoria. Some primaria students may also come for a better education and/or family situation. The ministry hopes that some students will return to their villages and bring lessons they have learned at VIM, such as personal and household hygiene, nutrition, raised garden beds and composting. Of course, the ministry also hopes that some students will continue on into college education and become the leaders of their community and church. |
